Candidate Night at CCBC
The Dundalk Chamber of Commerce held Candidate Night at CCBC , Tuesday, Oct. 7. Eleven candidates participated. Professor Michael Walsh and his students planned the event and the students asked each candidate questions. Each candidate was allowed 2 minutes to answer. At the end of the evening there was time to ask a few questions that were submitted by audience members.
Candidates who participated were: Johnny Ray Salling, John Olszewski, Jr., Scott Collier, Todd Crandell, Joe DiCara, Bob Long, Ric Metzgar, Robbin Grammer, Jake Mohorovic, Mike Weir & George Harman.

2014 Gala / Business Recognition Awards
Over 85 members and friends attended the Dundalk Chamber of Commerce Annual Gala & Business Recognition Awards. The event was Saturday, Oct. 4, at Sparrows Point Country Club. There were 11 sponsors for this event. Music was provided by 5th Avenue. Awards were presented to: Dan Woodward of Mars Super Markets for the Community Roots Award. Michael Weglein, Principal of Sollers Point Tech and Tom Shouldice, Principal of Dundalk High School received duplicate Image Awards. Kelly Bowman of Bay-Vanguard FSB accepted the Longevity Award. Jean Walker accepted the Service Award for the Dundalk Patapsco-Neck Historical Society and Museum. Gary Cramer accepted the Economic Growth Award for Thompson Automotive of Dundalk. The President's Award was a secret up to the last minute. President Jim Russell awarded the President's Award to Executive Director Dotty Cristy.

2014 State of the Chamber
The State of the Chamber was held at Squire's Restaurant. The Happy Hour event was Thursday, Sept. 25, 5:30 to 7:30 pm. Networking, presentation of committee reports and drawings filled the event. New member Chareen Keenan, contact for Merritt Manor Shopping Center was on hand and accepted her Welcome Basket from President Jim Russell.

The third in a series of Breakfast Networking Events was held at Sparrows Point Country Club on June 26.
Keith Daw from McDonell Consulting & Development, Inc. presented a seminar on LinkedIn and Social Media. He gave tips on how to use LinkedIn and connect with your friends and business associates.

On Monday, July 21, the Dundalk Chamber of Commerce held their 7th Annual Golf Tournament at Sparrows Point Country Club
Beautiful weather greeted 100 golfers as they made their way across the links.
The 1st , 2nd, 3rd and 4th place winners of the golf tournament:
1st - CCBC Athletics pictured with President Jim Russell in Center., 2nd - Toland & Co., 3rd - Tirschman Pallet Company, and 4th - Aramark.
Individual winners were:
Longest Drive Ladies, Carol Eustis, Longest Drive Men, Vic Pecora Closest to the Pin, Ryan Gilmartin Putting Contest, Linda Twenty.

May 21 2014 - Candidate Forum for County Council candidates at North Point Volunteer Fire Department Hall. All candidates for the Baltimore County Council’s 7th District seat were invited to attend: Todd Crandell, Joe DiCara, Scott Holupka, Buddy Staigerwald, Brian Weir & Ronald Yeatman
Candidates’ Night was jointly presented by the Dundalk Chamber of Commerce and the Millers Island-Edgemere Business Association.

May 5th Membership Mixer at Vinny’s Café
Dozens of Chamber members attended the May networking event at Vinny’s Cafe on Holabird Avenue to enjoy good food and listen to social media expert Dan Dawes discuss the value of social media in the small business plan. Dan is a co-founder of Response Labs, and spent the last four years with Havas Worldwide after his previous start-up was acquired by the agency. He has worked on brands such as AARP, Sonic Drive-in, Constellation Energy and Cracker Barrel.

Annual Holiday Luncheon 2013
The Dundalk Chamber of Commerce held it’s Holiday Luncheon on Dec. 12 at Sparrows Point Country Club. We had 36 attendees. The Chinese Auction had 14 Baskets. Entertainment was by the Woman’s Chorus from Patapsco High & Center for the Arts. 50/50 raffel was won by Dan Spack. Proceeds from the Chinese Auction go to the St Patricks Day Parade.

Friday, Oct 18, Dundalk Chamber of Commerce had a Networking Breakfast at CCBC. Thomas Evans President of Enterprise Insurance Training, Inc. did a power point presentation on Business Requirements under the new Health Care Law. Mr. Evans also answered any questions attendees had. Winner of the 50/50 was April Meise, 5 minutes to speak at the next event was John Bennett, and a free Business card ad Roy Moreland. CCBC donated Mums for every table. The drawing winners were April Meise, John Bennett, Paul Rosenberger, Michael Lore and Ruth Ann Cope.

Tuesday, October 1 at 10 am there was a Ribbon Cutting at the Dundalk and Sollers Point High Schools. Participants included the Principals, students, local politicians, and the Superintendent of Baltimore County Schools.

On Wednesday, September 18, the DRC held a meeting at the new Dundalk High and Sollers Point Technical High Schools. Before the meeting attendees were treated to a tour of the 2 schools and snacks prepared by the Culinary Arts students. Attached is a shot of the new library.

On September 14 the Steelworkers monument that was formerly located at the Steelworkers Hall on Dundalk Ave. was relocated in Heritage Park and rededicated to the workers who died in industrial accidents at the Bethlehem Steel Plant in Sparrows Point.

On Wednesday, September 11 there was a Memorial service in Heritage Park honoring all who died on 9-11-01. Bob Crandell of Severstal International was MC, other participants were: Bob Staab, Calvin Stadum and Calvary Baptist Church.
